1. Who we are

CompMom is operated by Adapting Services ("we," "us," or "our"), located in Ontario, Canada. We are the controller responsible for your personal information when you use the App. Questions? Contact us at smartin@adapting-services.ca.

2. What the App does

CompMom helps dance parents and guardians organize their season — tracking dance competitions, dancer profiles, packs/teams, schedules, and a personal "vault" of notes and details. CompMom is offered as a paid subscription.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

4. How we use your information

Legal bases (where applicable): we process your information to perform our contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests (security, improving the App), to comply with the law, and — where required — with your consent.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the App, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or user safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. International transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in Canada and the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where information is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (e.g., transaction records) for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, request portability, and lodge a complaint with a regulator.

Canada (PIPEDA): you may contact us to access or correct your information, and you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any right, email smartin@adapting-services.ca.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing smartin@adapting-services.ca. Deleting your account removes your profile, dancers, competitions, packs, and vault content. Cancelling a subscription is managed separately through your Apple or Google account.

10. Children's privacy

CompMom is intended for use by adults (18+) — parents, guardians, and other adults involved in a dancer's activities. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account.

The App may contain information about minors (e.g., a dancer's name, age, or schedule) that an adult account holder chooses to enter. If you enter information about a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized to provide it, and you are responsible for that information. If you believe a child created an account or that we hold a child's information without authorization, contact smartin@adapting-services.ca.

11. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, server-side handling of authentication secrets, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
